SE Portland Basement remodel

Description

This space was being used primarily for storage, but the homeowners wanted to see if it could be converted into more living space with a home office.

CHALLENGE

Our clients simply needed more space for themselves and their three kids. The main living floor was becoming cramped, and working from home was becoming more frequent.

We needed to find a way to create a living space, home office, and bathroom in the space, as well as a special request: a sauna.

Solution

We opened the existing basement and created separate areas for both living and working.

The home office and living room were separated by large, glass sliding barn doors for both quiet and privacy. And we added a sauna alongside a new bathroom we constructed.

In the end, we added 800 square feet of living space to the home.
