JOB DESCRIPTION: DESIGN CONSULTANT

Summary:

The Design Consultant works with clients from the initial consultation through the design process and signs the construction contract before building begins. During the sales and design process the Design Consultant oversees the client experience and provides direction and leadership for the project.

Key Responsibilities:

• Initial client phone call qualification
• Conducts initial consultation with client on site (conducts follow up appointments)
• Develops initial budget
• Brainstorms and develops initial concepts with the client
• Closes the design contract for the project
• Assists with asbuilt measurements of existing space
• Sets deadlines and manages critical path of the design process with internal designers, project managers and outside engineers
• Updates and manages the budget through the design process
• Assists the client with product selections
• Reviews drawings and clarifies the scope for the client and the design team
• At project completion: manage the photo shoot, record client remarks and request online reviews from the client and ask for referrals

Required Experience & Personal Traits:

• Knowledge & experience in design and construction work
• General knowledge of building code, structural features and architecture
• Exceptional interpersonal & communication skills, ability to instill confidence in clients & close projects
• Exceptional organizational skills, Tech savvy
• Degree in Architecture or Interior Design a plus!
• Ability to work with CAD software or draw hand sketches to create initial concept drawings
