Beaverton Whole Home Remodel

Custom Family Home Renovation

When the owners of this home came to our team at Lamont Bros. to begin remodeling, they had originally planned to renovate another home in the same neighborhood. However, it soon became clear that the home they were in could not be remodeled to the extent they had hoped.

Because the homeowners loved the neighborhood they were in, they purchased a home from one of their neighbors and hired Lamont Bros. under contract through a renovation loan to transform the new space into their forever home.

From the start, the goal of this massive remodel project was to totally customize the entire home to the needs and style of the new owners. As a growing family, they needed more space than the original floor plan had to offer.

The solution was to add over 500 square feet of living space with 2 separate additions on opposite ends of the home. We also renovated the interior of the home, including a custom kitchen, 3 1/2 bathrooms with high-end finishes, and 5 bedrooms.

Built in 1968, this project came with a few challenges that are common for renovations involving older homes. The owners wanted an open floor plan and vaulted ceilings in the main living area. This required extensive structural engineering and re-framing much of the home's roof structure.

The design of this remodel features several noteworthy features. In the kitchen, cabinets by German cabinetmaker Nobilia helped the homeowners stay within their budget while maintaining a sleek, modern style. In the bathroom, zero-threshold tile showers eliminate tripping hazards and maintain a consistent design throughout the bathroom.

One of the homeowners' favorite parts of this remodel was the panel door system installed on the back patio. This feature allows the homeowner to open up a 15-foot section of their rear wall and use their back patio as an extension of the main living space.
