Buckman Kitchen

Description

Lamont Bros. worked closely with the owners of this early 1900's house to re-create the charm of a turn of the century kitchen with modern convenience and utility. The tin ceiling and open shelving and solid color floor add some unique features.

CHALLENGE

Severe wood floor issues

Wanted to save old growth fir flooring

Needed to modernize but not sacrifice charm of 100+ year old home

Solution

We determined we could save the old growth Fir flooring. In order to minimize blemishes, we used a high-quality boat deck paint to hide. That allowed us to keep the original flooring and add a unique color and texture that really stands out in this kitchen.

The end product resulted in a mix of old and new, maintaining the existing charm of the space while adding contemporary features.
